Relatives claim that a teenager named Abdul Malek Mia (13) has not been found since the explosion in Siddikbazar, Gulistan of the capital.
Ratan Mia, identified as Malek's father, told Prothom Alo over the phone on Friday afternoon that on the day of the explosion, his son was supposed to take a bus from Munshiganj to Gulistan on Tuesday. From there he was supposed to go to Savar's Hemayetpur. But since the explosion incident, the son has not been found.
Ratan also said that their house is in Munsipur village of Rangchati union of Kalmakanda upazila of Netrakona. His son Malek worked in a brick kiln in Savar's Hemayetpur. His mother lives in Tongibari upazila of Munshiganj. Malek traveled there. Last Tuesday, Malek left Tongibari by bus. He was supposed to land in Gulistan. He was supposed to take another bus from Gulistan to Hemayetpur
Abdul Khalek Mia, identified as Malek's elder brother, told Prothom Alo that they believe that his brother was passing through the Siddikbazar area at the time of the explosion. They haven't been able to find him since the explosion.
Not finding Malek, Ratan said that Khalek went to Tongibari police station to file a general diary (GD) on Thursday. He said the GDT could not be registered. It has been said from the police station that he will need his national identity card. Malek needs pictures. Tomorrow, Saturday, they will go to the police station again.
After the explosion, Dhaka District Administration's support center and control room were set up in front of the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Relatives informed the missing persons there. According to their claim, two are still missing. Apart from Malek, the name of the other person is Imtiaz Hossain Salim.
Additional District Magistrate of Dhaka AKM Hedayetul Islam told Prothom Alo this afternoon, 'Yesterday Thursday afternoon, we spoke to two families. It is said by the family that till then they have not found the relatives. We also do not have any information about them so far.
A terrible explosion occurred in a seven-story building in Siddikbazar last Tuesday at around 5:50 p.m. In this, the basement, ground floor and second floor of the building became a lot of rubble. Some parts of two adjacent buildings were also damaged. Pedestrians or passengers on the road in front of the building were also injured in the blast. So far 23 people have been killed in the blast.
